Antique ball-peen hammer with medium head and two faces: 1" flat and one rounded. This hammer retains only a partial branding mark, faintly showing the letters "HAN" which leads me to suspect the company is VAUGHAN and this hammer is American made.

Original hickory handle has been scrubbed with wood soap and extensively sanded. It retains substantial texture and grain, showing signs of long wear and use. It now features a laser-engraved assembly of butterflies amongst sunflowers and cosmos while a single chrysalis promises the arrival of something new. Opposite this lively scene, the latin phrase "esse quam videri" is deeply burned into the wood- a mantra, to be rather than to seem.
